Saint Lucia Carnival Queen Shah Lucien is new Miss Jaycees Queen Lucien won the title at the annual pageant in Antigua on evening on Wednesday July 31, 2024.

The pageant feature eleven delegates representing Antigua & Barbuda, Dominica the British Virgin Islands, Grenada the US Virgin Islands, St Kitts, Nevis, Guadeloupe, Guyana and Haiti.

The event is part of Antigua carnival celebration on its 61th year.

On June 29, 2024 Lucien won the National Carnival Pageant here in Saint Lucia.

Following her win in Antigua Saint Lucia’s Carnival organizers have congratulated Lucien via social media platforms.

Under the theme “Beauty Unbroken” the contestants took to stage first in their introductory number adorned in vibrant cultural and national costumes.

Week long road closures in effect for Artscape in Baltimore

With Artscape kicking off this Friday the Baltimore City Department of Transportation is advising drivers to be aware of road closures and parking restrictions.

Modifications take effect in Mount Vernon, Charles North , Bolton Hill and Station North Arts District on Monday at 7 am,

Travelers are encouraged to download the Waze app for live detour navigation.

Once the road closures are implemented motorists will be rerouted to change routes are directed by Baltimore City Police BPD. Transportation Enforcement Officers TEOs signs and electronic message boards.

According to DOT travelers should pay close attention to posted parking limitation throughout duration of week.

Artscape is America mega free festival showcasing Charm City since 1982. According to Artscape its start as an Arts Fair marketing Baltimore as a cultural hub for draw community help and economic development and investment in area.

Residents, visitor and students are encouraged to plan for road closure using change routes below.

CrowdStrike the cybersecurity firm crashed millions of computers with a botched update across globe past week is offering its partners a $10 Uber Eat gift card as an apology

On Tuesday a firm received an email from CrowdStrike offering them gift card because company recognizes the additional work that July 19 incident has caused.

The email was sent from CrowdStrike email address in name of Daniel Bernard the company chief business officer.

On Friday CrowdStrike released a faulty update that rendered around 8.5 million windows devices unusable according to Microsoft.

The news caused the affected computers to be stuck at infamous blue screen of death or BSOD a bright blue error screen with text that shown when Windows crashes.

The outage caused delay at airports in Amsterdam, Berlin, London and Dubai and across the US. It caused several hospitals to halt surgery and paralyzed numerous businesses across globe.

The company published apologies from its CEO George Kurtz as well as its Chief Security officer Shawn Henry.

Salaried employees at Deere and Co. are layoff Wednesday morning

The employees were listen the news around 9 am. Sources who spoke layoffs said meetings were held virtually.

Deere declined to say. The number of people affected is not known,

Deere has previously adds that salaried employees were likely to lose jobs.

Layoffs are cyclical at the ag manufacture as demand for farm equipment rises and falls.

The acquisition publicly traded Galaxy Digital led by Michael Novogratz will expand the firm role in Ethereum staking as part of effor to push deeper into the business of blockchain infrastructure.

Galaxy Digital the publicly traded crypto  firm led by Michael Novogratz has acquired all the assets of blockchain node operator CryptoManufaktur LLC in deal that will progress the company Ethereum staking capabilities.

According to spokesperson Galaxy is acquiring the operators and engineering teams and assets that come with those increasing the company service assets under stake by almost 43%.

Galaxy has been expanding into blockchain infrastructure adding to primary business lines of crypto trading and investment management.

Novogratz is followed figure in crypto and on business TV networks due to its background on Wall Street.

CMF Founder Thorsten Behrens as part of three person engineering team will join Galaxy blockchain infrastructure group which provides blockchain validator services to qualified investor, protocols according to media release.

Galaxy is rapidly growing its blockchain infrastructure and staking capabilities to provide technical expertise and help to strategic corners of digital asset ecosystem.

In a latest tweet Dr Martin Hiesboeck uphold head of research sounded an important alert that might be essential for crypto community to pay attention to.

The XRP friendly Uphold exchange Research lead highlighted a surge in phishing airdrops a tactic used by scammers to trick users into disclosing information.

This information show the trend of scammers capitalizing on famous of airdrops a common method for distributing tokens or promoting new projects to get and exploit unsuspecting crypto users.

Dr Hiesboeck indicated that these means of scams were now out of hands as received over 100 messages in one week to claim scam airdrops.

One of Seattle mega annual food festival starts this weekend featuring live music, fun activities and more than 250 food retail vendors.

The Bite of Seattle famous as The Bite is free three day event at the Seattle Center where anyone can come and involve in a variety of local food and drinks.

The Bite of Seattle started in 1982 and this year starts the 42nd annual festival with exception of pandemic time cancellations.

New festival organizer FoodieLand anticipates about 450,000 persons who can enter the festival grounds for free from Friday to Sunday but pay for food once ther payment and cash card will be accepted.

Bite of Seattle’s returns to Seattle Center this weekend under new ownership featuring about 250 food and drink vendors and over 60 musical acts.

Alan Silverman owner of Seattle area restaurant Barnaby joined with local restaurant owners that were struggling with impact of Reagan era recession.

Upon Approval from mayor Charles Royer the first event was held at Green Lake Park and seeing 75,000 visitors.

Over 65 artists are set to perform across three various stages set up around the venue.

The food vendor lineup is too long. The diverse selection of all kinds of fried food to sweat meats to sugary snacks.

The large line of vendors as more than 450,00 people are expected.

The new store marks the second franchise under ownership of Douglas Keenum in Clarksville.

American restaurant chain Dickey Barbecue Pit has broadened its presence with launch of new outlet in Clarksville Tennessee.

The menu at new Clarksville location will feature a various hickory smoked meats and classic side dishes.

The new location at 2805 Fort Campbell Blvd Ste C marks second franchise under ownership of Douglas Keenum in Clarksville.

In November 2023 Dickey Barbecue Pit reopened its overhauled restaurant in Tyler Texas

Located at 1501 W SW Loop 323 the revamped restaurant venue was opened under new ownership.

The Tyle location was taken by Dickey owner and operator Douglas Edwards and his pit crew.

Dickey’s Barbecue Pit CEO Laura Read Dickey said “We are confident that Doug his crew and brand new Dickey store are going to bring legit barbecue and lasting memories to great people of Clarksville.

Project Natick was a success but did not make sense fr4om operational point.

Microsoft recently scrapped Project Natick its pioneering underwater data center project after over a decade and experts have told the project was never a feasible option for businesses.

The firm start the project back in 2013 and saw some successful results after sinking the first servers in 2018. With 855 servers submerged and left unattended for over two years. Microsoft found success rate more than the 135 unsubmerged servers they used for comparison.

Only 6 of submerged servers failed compared to 8 of those on dry land, suggesting potential in project. Underwater data centers are attractive from standpoint owing to those with liquid cooling can be performed.

There are some factors that makes the underwater data center less appealing despite its cooling potential one experts add.

The underwater technology presents a problem for firms as they are not able to update it or upgrade it as easily as they could on  land.
