Avista asking consumers to cut back on natural gas as a result of mechanical issue with supplier

The utility organization has requested Idaho and Washington natural gas consumers to cut back on usage for the next 24 hours.

The utility company has said its local gas system is safe and was not damaged by the equipment issue. Those consumers are being asked to conserve their natural gas for the 24 hours next.

Avista is asking its customers to conserve natural gas as outcome of mechanical issue occurring with a natural gas provider with the company.

The company said the pipeline supplier issue is affecting Avista ability to supply natural gas for its customer homes and businesses throughout its service territory. The company expressed it will release updates on the situation by saturday morning.

” Our gas transmission suppliers are working diligently to resolve the issue” Heather Rosentrater Avista Said. We recognize the hardship this request presents our consumers given the extreme cold temperatures. We will provide updates as the situation evolves. We are thankful for everyone patience and please know we are working around the clock to mitigate impact to our consumers.
