Florida basketball coach Todd Golden faces Title IX stalking inquiry

Florida get a formal Title IX complaint against Golden on Sept 27 that consist of allegations of sexual harassment, exploitation and stalking.

Golden a 39 year old married father of two young boys aimed these behaviors toward Florida students and former students according to the Title IX complaint.

The Title IX complaint consist of allegations that Golden sent images and video of his genitalia made undesired sexual advances on Instagram and requested sexual favors.

Florida Gators men basketball coach Todd Golden is subject of Title IX investigation following allegation of sexual harassment, cyberstalking and stalking from various women, consisting of students according to complaint sent anonymously to Gainesville media outlets on Friday.

This is third set of serous allegations against head coach during athletic director Scott Stricklin eight year tenure.

On various occasions Golden allegedly took images of ladies walking or driving or their cars in multiple locations and sent those images to subjects of the images.

He allegedly showed up to locations where he knew the ladies would be according to the Title IX complaint.

Before arriving at Florida Golden had spent three seasons as the head coach of San Francisco leading the Dons to first NCAA tournament appearance since 1998.

Golden was assistant under Kyle Smith at USF for three seasons after two seasons apiece at Columbia and Auburn.

Golden is 42-29 in two plus season in Gainesville.

Title IX is regulated by the U.S. Department of Education. confirmed with federal education official Friday a school can disclose whether an employee has been accused of sexual harassment in Title IX complaint if such disclosure is required under another federal or state law.

University spokeswoman Cynthia Roldan Hernandez denied request Friday to provide copy of complaint and declined to answer any queries about Golden.

Hernandez added that in order to comply with federal law the university could not confirm or comment on any Title IX complaint.

Florida hired Golden in 2022 to replace Mike White giving him 6 year $18 million contract.

Golden and school agreed in March to a two year extension attempting him to school through the 2029-30 season on a deal that tops $4 million per season.

Florida state public records law would decide what the school has to release and Michael Barfield director of public reach with the Florida Center of Government Accountability wrote that he was not aware of any statutory exemption under Florida law that shields Title IX  complaints as public record

Even if information is exempt he wrote it would not allow officials to withhold the entire documents.

Publicly accessible Instagram activity tracking software Golden unfollowed 118 account on platform between Aug 1 and Sept.1

At least 20 if not more of these accounts appear to have been young women without connection to the Florida basketball program or other organization that Golden had affiliated with.

The women confirmed that Golden had blocked them rather than unfollowed.

Woman said Golden told multiple ladies that they were his drug or his good luck charm before matches.

The first woman a forme UF student told that  Golden stalked her in person both in his car and on foot and that this happened more than 10 times.

She said Golden sent unsolicited images of his genitalia to her.

On various events the first woman she get the images while the team was traveling on road.

The nature of Golden alleged stalking became more attacking over time she said.
