Wells Fargo fired over a dozen employees after investigation opened up that they were using devices or apps to simulate productivity on their computers.

What is not known is how a dozen staffers had jobs where productivity could be measure by mouse movements

The software and devices in question have existed for year but during covid their popularity is going up when employees found themselves working from home without any in person supervision.

The apps are referred to as mouse movers or mouse jigglers they can move a computer cursor or trigger phantom keyboard entries without human intervention.

In South Florida the dividing line between 2 more people moving in and those leaving is Broward Miami Dade county line.

North of that in Palm Beach counties and Broward the population increase.

South in Miami Dade and Monroe counties more people moved out.

The rapid growing city in Florida with 20,000 resident between 2020 and 2023 was Haines City. Heart of Florida is what it says on city seal.

Haines City is about 40 miles south of Orlando. Its population  grew by 35%.

Walker said :We bought that kind of limit how much residential we can have in there.

“It gives us chance to provide amenities to residents. We do not have shopping restaurants.

City is not finished. Walker and city have eyes on largest undeveloped tract of land in Broward County. Hendrix Farm has 739 acres sitting between Parkland northwest border and Loxahatchee Road.

“We will have additional supply whether its three years. four years 10 years from now we do not really know that.”

In Key West Johnston hopes to address lack of housing supply by asking voters to change city charter permitting it to purchase properly for housing.

The city can buy property if voters okay purchase through a ballot refrendum.

“If we desire employes to stay here and live here in city of Key West raise their families here send kids to our schools we have got to do something to impact that. That falls into category of housing.”

Various restaurant across the US offer what is known as tipped minimum wage. Under labor law they can offer little as $2.13 per hour if that amount combined with tip  at least matches the federal minimum wages of $7.25 per hour.

Waffle House base pay excluding tips will increase to at least $5.25 per hour for all company 2000 location by June 2026 extra increases base on shifts and seniority.

The company has not opened up any actions to respond to workers other concerns including safety at locations that are open 24/7 and have draw disorderly patrons.

Rogers said Waffle House will seek to offset labor cost by raising its menu prices noting that patrons are chain urban location would be charged more.

A power outage left hundreds of homes and businesses without electrical service Tuesday in Rancho San Diego. La Presa and Spring Valley.

The cause of outage was under investigation.

Service was restored to all affected addresses by shortly before 1:30 pm according SDG&E.

The outage struck about 1 pm knocking out power to total of 1054 San Diego Gas & Electric customer sthe power company advised.
