Man died in violent dog mauling at Compton home

A man died after attacked by dogs Friday morning at residential area in Compton.

The victim was announced dead at the scene. He was not identified.

Los Angeles County sheriff deputies responded shorty at 7 am to a report of violent drug mauling at home in the 900 block of Thorson Avenue just south of Rosecrans Avenue.

The man body on the ground in an outdoor keenel on property.

 Deputies and 2 women were view attending to other person in front but it was unclear that individual was injured or being consoled.

Other dogs were seen on the property. How many of them may have been involved in the attack was unknown.

2 dead following shooting on UCCS campus in Colorado

The University of Colorado Colorado Springs campus was on lockdown Friday morning. Two people were seemed dead in a dorm. The lockdown has been lifted for the whole campus.

Colorado Springs Police say that lockdown was put in place tied to a call for shots fired at about 6 am.

Urgent UCCSAlert Lockdown Lock interior doors, Turn out the lights, Move away from sight. Do not open the door. Maintain silence. Defend/Evade. UCCS Police posted to social media at start of situation.

Police provided update at 11 10 am expressing they were early in the investigative process and did not have various details to share. The 2 deaths are being investigated at homicides.

Details on suspect or suspects were not shared with public last moment this article was updated at 11:10 am. The campus was shut for rest of the day.

UCCS said that counselling services would offered for students and staff.

McDonald’s offering File O Fish deal for Lent

McDonald’sis offering a deal on its Filet O Fish sandwich for the season of Lent. Consumers who bought the crispy fish sandwich will be able to get a second for just $1. The deal started on Feb,14 the first day of Lent and will run through late March. This year Lent ends on March 28. The offer is only at participating location.

The McDonald’s Filet O Fish features a crispy fish filet patty on melty American cheese topped with creamy McDonald tartar sauce and serve on soft steamed bun.

2024 is a year of change for McDonald. The restaurant revealed its hamburger, double cheeseburger, cheeseburger McDouble burger and Big Macs will have meltier cheese and fresher lettuce and tomatoes.

The fast food chain will add onions to burger patties while meat is on grill and grill six patties at time instead of eight.

This month McDonald reveal the return of the Shamrock shake. The St Patricks Day inspired green shake is on the menu at participating restaurants while supplies last.

The chain announced the return of the Double Big Mac.

Celebrated on third Monday of February President Day originally and still federally recognized as George Washington birthday was established as a day to recognize the US President.

Now here is what you want to know what is and what is not open on Monday.

This Monday Feb 19 marks Presidents Day which is celebrated every year on third Monday in February. The day is a federal holiday meaning many schools government services and schools will be closed.

The holiday was first establish in 1879 and officially recognized as Washington Birthday to honor the first US president George Washington. It was observed on Washington birthday on Feb 22 until 1971 Uniform Monday Holiday Act which mover several holidays to Monday to give federal workers three day weekends.

Section 6103 a of Title 5 of the US code which classifies federal holidays still the third Monday of the month as Washington Birthday.The date change the day known as President Day.

Retail stores and shopping malls

Most retails stores and shopping malls will be open on Monday.

Some mega retailers like Macy Nordstrom, Best Buy, Walmart are having special President’s Day sales. Amazon has entire section on its home page dedicated to President’s Day sales.

An unknown mother of a Taylor Swift fan expressed she experienced an incredible moment as fans awaited the star arrival on stage.

A good news story out of the MCG. My friend and her daughter had cheap restricted seats from yesterday release and rocked up as soon as gates opened the woman expressed.

” Sat down and Taylor Swift dad went around and handed them wristbands and entry into VIP section apparently about $2000 in total value.
