Searching for elusive tetraneutrons with thermal fission Tokyo Tech Physicists

The possible emission rate of particle tetraneutron, a 4 neutron system whose existence has been talk of the town with in the scientific group, has been investigated bt physicists from Tokyo Tech. They viewed into tetraneutron emission from thermal fission of 235U by irradiating a sample of 88SrCo3 in a nuclear research reactor and via y ray spectroscopy.

Physicists from Tokyo Institute of Technology head by Associate Professor Hiroyuki Fujioka have hop on an innovation into the presence of a hitherto hypothetical atomic nucleus composed lonely by 4 neutrons, dubbed the tetraneutron. The elusive tetraneutron if look could challenge traditional understanding of nuclear forces and reveal horizons in nuclear physics.

Scientists believe that experimental observation of a tetraneutron could be the main point to search new features of atomic nuclei and answering the traditional queries. Can a charge neutral multineutron system exist?

Two latest experimental studies show the presence of tetraneutrons in bound state and resonant state. Theoretical studies indicate that tetraneutrons will not presence in a bound state if the interaction between neutrons are managed by common understanding of two or three nuclear forces.

This puzzle has increase scientific curiosity making the hunt for tetraneutrons a compelling chapter in nuclear physics.

To search the potential for tetraneutron emission the team opt to focus on the thermal neutron induce fission of Uranium 235. This method has 0.2 percent chance of producing ternary fission, a method used to emit tetraneutrons as an incidental by product. The experiment sticked on neutron activation research using SrCO as a aim which exposed to neutron bombardment in a nuclear reactor.

Hiroyuki Fujioka from Tokyo Institute of technology set out to search the feasibility of bound tetraneutron emission.

Dr Fujioka told “Our study showed that the instrumental neutron activation method in radiochemistry can be applied to address the open question in nuclear physics. We will improve the further to look for elusive charge neutral system.”

The team was not able to search bound tetraneutron, their work has based a framework for future studies on the elusive tetraneutrons and such systems.

The expectation is that if tetraneutrons were emitted they would convert Sr nuclei into Sr and their existence would explore through the radioactive decay and emission of gamma rays. The experiment did not show gamma rays indicative of Sr formation a very low emission rate fro tetraneutron if they presence at all.

The analystes remain optimistic. They have firm sure that enhancement in sample purity and sensitivity allow for the search of tetraneutrons in the future studies. This work not yielding the want result contributes to ongoing search for elusive tetraneutrons and clear the test for discovery in nuclear physics.

Man jumps into bass pro shop fish tank, strips naked and knocks himself unconscious

A mentally ill person is in police custody and en route to a hospital for mental health treatment after he entered without wearing anything into the huge acquaurium at the Brass Pro Shop Leeds Thursday night.

The 42 year old man was reported to be doing wrongly and drove a automobile into a pole in the store parking space.

After the accident he move out of his car, took off his clothes, enter into the Bass Pros Shop and jumped into the acquaurium. As two Leeds police mens start to walk up the stairs, the man ran out from the water, shouting to the officers and then dove back into the water.

Man continued to shout something to officers before he mounted over the side of the aquarium and dropped to the concreted floor below showing to have been knocked out by the fall.

Officers handcuffed the person who then rose up and try to struggle. Somebody covered him with a cloth as policemen took from the store.

Jail history show George Owens of Sterret is charged with misconduct, resisting arrest, attack on police mean, two counts of reckless engagement, two counts of first degree criminal mischief and public lewdenss.

The man was in water for five minutes before officers reached. He was taken to hospital for mental treatment and then send into the St Clair County Prison.

Tension Rises as National Grid ready for power outage How to stay warm. Impact Thousands in Rochester Region

Various Rochester area residents have initiated voicing their worry about this weekend planned National Grid power outage, with the potential for cold temperature and snow and winter storm moving through the area.

The organization will changing two old structures that help a transmission line on Jan 6 a necessary progress leaving more than 7000 consumers without power Saturday from 7 30 am to 4 30 pm.

“We know this is not the best time of year to be doing this. If we donot make repairs, there is a risk that area can experience what is called an unplanned outage. It could affect more people for a longer period of time. We do not want that. National Grid Dave Bertola expressed.

Temperature in January is expected to be in mid 30 with possible snow in forecast. This outage will effect farmers, businesses and elder persons. People are worried about their pets cats or birds to freeze to death.

According to Bertola, the need for upgrade is urgent. Bertola told ” If there was a storm maybe that number is more important because it is a transmission line ” Bertola expressed.

The planned blackout is projected to affect around 7300 consumers in Ontario, Monroe counties, Livingston consisting of these areas.

  • Bloomfield and West Bloomfield
  • Avon Lima, Livonia and Caledonia
  • Henrietta, Mendo, Rush and Honeoye Falls

National Grid advice some tips before Saturday outage to make sure the consumers stay safe.

  • Be sure to check on elderly family members, neighbors who may need support during an outage.
  • Keep working flashlights and additional supply of batteries in your home and make sure to charge electronic devices.
  • Generators used to supply power during outage must be operated outdoors to prevent the buildup of deadly carbon monoxide.
  • Use caution when driving near utility crews.
  • Consumers who depend on electrically powered life assistance equipment like respirator. Contact National Grid at 1-800-642-4272
  • Be sure to disconnect from National Grid system by closing off the main breaker located in electric service panel. Failure to do so could endanger the National Grid crew and your neighbors.

Warming centers will be available at nine points throughout the impacted area. The list and times that facilities are to be open and available are subject to alter, the company told due to staffing and schedules.

Ontario County resident affected by the outage can visit these locations

  • West Boomfield Congregational Church 9035 Routes 5 & 20 in West Bloomfield 7 30 am 4 30 pm
  • Ionia Fire Department 8338 County Rd 14 in lonia 7 30 am 4 30 pm

Affected resident can stop by in Monroe County

  • Honeoye Falls Ambulance Base: 210 East St. in Honeoye Falls, 7 30 am to 4 30 pm
  • Mendo Fire Department Community Room 101 Mendon lona Road in Mendo 8 am 5pm
  • Rush Fire Department Building 1971 Rush Mendon Road in Rush 7 30 am 4 30 pm

Big snowstorm threatens Northeast to start 2024 Will it impact Rochester?

Various ambulance bases and fire departments are warming centers Saturday, the Livingston County Office of Emergency Management shared on Facebook previous week that sheltering system is not manufacture to accommodate all citizens without electricity and animals pets are not permitted at the Livingston County locations.

According to the New York State Department of Public Service and AAA here are some method to stay heated in your home during a winter power blackout.

  • wear layered clothing
  • Use blankets or sleeping bags to stay heat
  • Close off unused rooms to retain heat as soon as you loose blackout.
  • Minimize your time outdoors
  • Never heat your home using oven or stoves
  • know mental and physical symbol of hypothermia to trat it.
  • Let faucet to protect pipes from freezing bursting which can cause wate damage extensive.

Bertola told residencts can escalate heat in their home to around 75 degrees the night before and right up to when the power is planned to go out so your home can stay warmer throughout the day.
