Vikings Sign Defensive Lineman James Lynch and release Joejuan Williams

James Lynch is return in action and back with the Vikings. A 4th round pick by the Vikings in the 2020 NFL Draft, Lynch hit free agency this March when his rookie contract expired.

Lynch has appeared in 37 matches with 3 starts. Her has totaled 53 tackles 31 solo 4 tackles for loss, 2 sack and fumble recovery.

To make room on offseason roster the Vikings released veteran cornerback Joejuan Williams who appeared in 2 matches for Minnesota in 2023.

Lynch 4th season ended before had chance to begin due to knee injury suffered during training camp last August.

He was estimated to member of interior defensive line rotation and playing at various posts.

The Patriots selected Williams in 2nd round of the 2019 draft. He appeared in 36 matches with one start for New England in first 4 years, missing the 2022 season fully suffering from injury.

Minnesota has release cornerback Joejuan Williams.

Williams 26 was in 2nd stint with Vikings. He start signed with club previous April before he was released during roster cuts at starting of regular season.

He was on Viking practice team for several weeks he then signed with Chicago 53 man roster and appeared in 4 games with the club.

Once the Bears let him go he resigned with Viking practice team and signed a futures contract with team once the season ended.

The offseason program is closer as the OTAs are right around corner. There will be various new faces when whole team steps on field for first time.

The Vikings failed to get help in draft and free agency. Despite employing Harrison Philips the line is one of worst groups in league.

Jaquelin Roy and Jonathan Bullard return from last season Khyiris Tonga and Dean Lowry are no longer with organization.

Adofo Mensah aimed for defender Christian Wilkins in free agency however had to settle for veterans Jerry Tillery and Jonah Williams.

They missed out on guys in draft in favor of drafting J McCarthy and Dallas Turner and select Levi Drake Rodriquez in last round.
