Senegal start their title defense on Monday 15 January against The Gambia. The Scorpions and The Lions of Teranga officially open what has been viewed as the Group of death in a Group C also including Guinea and Cameroon.

Alex Rins is in for a busy season as a factory MotoGP rider. Honda is considering over 20 private tests. The revised concession rules mean that Honda and Yamaha are eligible to take part in private testing with their race riders.

According to Corporate Traveller data, the Australia Open attracted a 725% more flight, ground transport and hotel booking than the Boxing Day Test in 2023. This year tournament is estimated to over that by 21%.

For the 2024 Australian Open in Melbourne, the top proportion of booking from a single city came from Sydney 29% of total bookings followed by Canberra 2%,Perth 9%, Brisbane 16% and Adelaide 9% and outside Australia 14%..

Popular Cork pub Plans sky bridge bar expansion into closed bookshop building

The pub company are looking to renew the bookshop building which was sat empty since it closed in 2020.

Mutual Enterprises the owners of venues including BarBarossa, Vodoo Rooms and An Brog have applied to change the former Uneeda bookshop into a new bar to add to the Oliver Plunkett Street nightlife strip.

The former Soho venue is an over 23s club with a new DJ booth and couple bars downstairs including the main bar area with bar seating booth style tables and live music performances.

They have done mega job in six months of renovations with full renovation of the bar, flooring, furniture and new lights in what is beautiful nod to Gatsby esque Art Deco glamour with a modern change.

The publicans are hoping to overhaul the bookshop which has been empty since 2020. They are looking to change the ground floor shop into a bar on the second story. The desire to add a sky bridge that connect the new venue to the Voodoo and An Brog block.

Their planning applications suggest the sky bridge a fancy connecting bridge, usually made out of glass which will go to Market Avenue and connect the pubs together. They have applied to extend the roof of the old uneeda building and to renew the exterior of the venue with new window, signage. Cork City Council is expected to make decision on the new bar by March this year.

Police charge teen in trying carjacking and shooting that injured Uber driver in Austin

Chicago police have arrested a teenage boy in relation with a shooting attempt that left Uber driver seriously injured in Austin earlier this month.

The 16 year boy arrested thursday faces single counts of attempted murder, armed robbery, attempted carjacking and aggravated battery with a firearm related to attack which left 51 year old man in serious condition according to police.

Two other chicago ride share drivers were also shot and murdered in the previous month. Lyft driver Adraina Arocha died Dec 26 and livery and Uber driver Mohammed al Hijoj died Dec 3. Pair were in their vehicles in Austin when they died.

Authorities expressed the boy is one of suspect believed to be involved in the Jan 3 incident. Police statement on the shooting said the driver was dropping off a ride share customer in the 900 block of North Leclaire Avenue when three people walked up took his cell phone and ordered him out of his car. When the man did not cooperate.The three attackers shot him in the chest.

Information for the teen court appearance was not immediately available.

Avista asking consumers to cut back on natural gas as a result of mechanical issue with supplier

The utility organization has requested Idaho and Washington natural gas consumers to cut back on usage for the next 24 hours.

The utility company has said its local gas system is safe and was not damaged by the equipment issue. Those consumers are being asked to conserve their natural gas for the 24 hours next.

 Avista is asking its customers to conserve natural gas as outcome of mechanical issue occurring with a natural gas provider with the company.

The company said the pipeline supplier issue is affecting Avista ability to supply natural gas for its customer homes and businesses throughout its service territory. The company expressed it will release updates on the situation by saturday morning.

” Our gas transmission suppliers are working diligently to resolve the issue” Heather Rosentrater Avista Said. We recognize the hardship this request presents our consumers given the extreme cold temperatures. We will provide updates as the situation evolves. We are thankful for everyone patience and please know we are working around the clock to mitigate impact to our consumers.

The local gas system is safe and was not damage by third party equipment issue. We are doing all well we can to maintain natural gas system operation and we provide updates as more data is available from supplier.

We recognize this comes when our region is facing cold temperatures. We appreciate your patience and assistance as the supplier works to resolve this issue as rapid as possible. You set thermostats in a low setting and limit the use of hot water.

Background actor of ‘MaXXXine’ accused Mia Goth kicking in the Head in Latest Lawsuit

A background actor sued Mia Goth on Friday, alleging that she intentionally kicked him in the head during a scene last April. In the lawsuit James Hunter states that he was hired for three days to work to play the role of “Dead Parishioner” On the fist night of shooting, he lay on the ground for several hours covered in fake blood enduring mosquitoes and ants.

Hunter claims that he suffered a concussion after Goth kicked him during production on the A24 sequel “MaXXXine”. The film is third in a trilogy of horror movies directed by Ti West and Starring Goth, following Pearl and X both released in 2022.

In the scene Goth was to run past him and sometimes step over him, look down and keep running.The suit alleges that on the 4th take Goth stepped on him. Hunter Complained on the second assistant director and the concern was relayed to Goth.

On the following take according to suit Goth intentionally kicked him in the head with her boot. After the scene was completed. Hunter alleges that he was in the bathroom when Goth came in and “mocked taunted” daring him to do anything about it.

Quaker recalls granola bars, cereals over salmonella exposure

Quaker Canada is recalling 38 types of granola bars and Harvest Crunch cereals due to the potential exposure to salmonella.This action is being taken in Canada out of abundance of commitment and caution to the wellbeing of our Canadian customers”Quaker canada told to media. The company expressed the recalled products have been sold across Canada.

The company said it is working closely with Canadian Food Inspection Agency to ensure the recalled products are removed from the shops.

Quaker Canada cautioned people to not buy use the recalled product. In another the Canadian government told food contaminated with salmonella may not look to smell spoiled but can still make you sick.

Quaker Oats U.S. parent company which is owned by PepsiCo, declared a product recall on Dec 15, 202 3. Thursday release was an expansion of that recall, the U.S. FDA said on its website.

“Healthy people may experience short term symptoms like fever, vomiting, nausea, diarrhea and cramps. Long term complication include arthritis”.

“Young children, elderly people and pregnant women with weakened immune system may contract serious deadly infections” the government said in a recall notice.

Salmonella is a bacterium that can cause fever, cramps and diarrhea. Various individuals recover without treatment. Diarrhea may be so severe that patient needs to be hospitalized. The infants, elderly those with impaired immune system are likely to have a severe illness.

MLGW prepares for severe winter weather

Memphis Light Gas and Water keeping the lights on, the heat up and water running is preference.The upcoming days will test the improvements and upgrades made to MLGW infrastructure in the last one year. MLGW Presiden McGowen told media that the utility is a much better position this year to manage severe winter weather.

Leading up to a First Alert Weather day, bringing thuderstorms in round one and a snow with low temperatures in round two.

To avoid a similar disastrous winter of 2022 when MLGW consumers lost water service and power. MLGW winterized all electric substations and treated circuit breaks with anti freeze.

Water pumping stations are online. The utility wells have been insulated and winterized heating installed to avoid freeze ups. No one desire a December 2022 condition when MLGW electric grid and water pumping station failed following an ice storm. TVA did not have power to serve its 10 million consumers resulting in rolling blackouts.

The mega worry of MLGW is pipe bursting in freezing temperature. The utility advised consumers to permit their faucets to drip, insulate outdoor pipes.

TVA invested more than $100 million in upgrades, sesnsors to prevent the loss of generation capacity. The TVA rolling blackouts experience a year ago should not re occur. The power provider added 1500 megawatts of new power to supply more than 1.5 million homes.

Michael Strahan daughter Isabella, 19 reveals brain tumor battle and diagnosis

Michael Strahan and his daughter Isabella unfolded in sentimental “Good Morning America” interview she has been fighting with brain tumor.

Doctors expressed Isabella that she had a malignant brain tumor call as medulloblastoma in October about a month after she start facing issue of severe headaches at the beginning of her freshman year of college.

Medulloblastoma is a type of malignant tumor that accounts for almost 20% of all childhood brain tumors according to medical journal.

After undergoing a battery of tests, including an MRI, Isabella was pushed to Cedars Sinai Hospital where she know her rapid growing 4 centimeter tumor.

The day before her 19th birthday, Isabella underwent emergency surgery to remove the tumor, she had to relearn how ro walk with help from her twin sister, Sophia. She also underwent radiation therapy and 30 day of rehablitation.

Despite side effects from her treatment Isabella told she is feeling good and looking forward to getting back to her everyday life. Im very excited for this whole process to wrap. You just have to keep living every day. I think through the whole thing she told.

Isabella will relocate back to East Coast to begin chemotherapy at Duke Children Hospital & Health Center in Durham North Carolina.

That is my next step. I m ready for it to begin and be one day closer to being over. she expressed.

Strahan and his second ex wife Jean Muggli shares Sophia and Isabella. He is als a father of daughter Tanita and Michael Jr shares with his frst Wife Wanda Hutchins.

Michael Strahan said he learned the new before Isabell and “It didnot feel real” ” don’t really remember much” he said. ” I just remember trying to sort out how to get to LA ASAP and it just does not feel real. It Jus did not feel real.”

Medulloblastoma is a cancerous and rapid growing brain tumor that develop in cerebellum, the back of the brain where movement and coordination are controlled.

Isabella Strahan said she thought she had vertigo but a few weeks after noticing her symptoms, she said she woke up on Oct 25 and known her condition had taken a turn for the worse.

“I woke up probably at like 1 pm. I dreaded walking up. I was throwing up blood” she remember ” I was like,”Hm this probably isnot good.” So I texted my sister who then notified the whole family”

Her symptoms persisted and Michael Strahan said they encouraged Isabella to get medical attention.

Verizon service outage in Tampa Bay

Verizon customers reported that they were facing issues with their mobiles having no signal. Verizon has not reported any problem in the area.According to news outlet more than 2000 Verizon users have reported an outage before 9 am tuesday.

Services were restore to some customers around 10:15 am. If you are a Verizon user you may have experienced phone signal service tuesday morning.
