Google Home is finally rolling out of new Wear OS Favorites Tile and device complications.

Google Home shows a screen detailing What’s new “You might have to restart your watch to get the Tile to appear.

The other update is latest complication type with Google Home for Wear OS already offering one that opens the app.

Selecting Device Shortcut in picker you are presented with list of instruments.

The icon you see next to instrument name will appear on your watch face. This opens app and takes you to solo card to tap swipe or long press.

The new Favorites Tile shows first 5 smart home devices you have favorited in Google Home mobile app.

Google Contacts Tile each is shown by an icon that opens the app to page/card when tapped.

Compare to widget this is not on/off switch.

Open at bottom of the Tile takes you to full list on wrist.

Google past month detailed how Home for Wear OS is getting deeper levels of control from your watch.

This includes ability to adjust fan rotation humidity settings and speed.

To do this go to Google Drive in your browser and start on Trash the left hand sidebar.

You will find Empty trash button. Click on it then confirm by clicking Delete forever.

Samsung the global leader in storage chips has launched its first 60TB SSD. The high capacity SSD is made for business use.

The company adds it is possible to make 120TB SSD due to its new controller.

Samsung PM1743 is A61.44TB SSD

Samsung is mega famous SSD brand its SSDs were restricted to storage capacity of 32TB.

The company has launched a 61.44 TB variat of PM1743 SSD. This 60TB class SSD will contest with Solidigm D5-P5336 Western Digital 60TB class enterprise SSDs.

Samsung will have low contest in market as its main enemy Micron, SK Hynix and Kioxia have yet to launch 60TB class SSDs.

This new SSD will available for servers in two shape factors U.2 and PCle 4.0 x4. It will available in E3 S fro PCle 5.0×4 interface for high storage machines.

Price and power consumption figures have not been disclosed yer.

Drives cost almost $7000.

The PM1743 uses Samsung 176 layer 7th Generation VNAND QLC memory and proprietary controller.

Its read speed is 7.2GBps.IT sequential write speed reach up to 2 GBps.

It has 1600,000 random reads and 110,000 random write IOPS.

It has endurance of 0.26 drive writes per day DWPD for 5 years.

The BM1743 is built with Samsung v7 QLC V-NAND flash memory. QLC stands for quad level cell.

NAND memory can offer high capacities but at expense of performance compared to triple level cell. TLC NAND used in PC SSDs.

The BM1743 pick up from past BM1733a but quadruples this drive storage capacity from 15.36TB to 61.44TB.

The drive uses U2 form factor where NAND chips are packed into box that slots into drive bay a bit like 2-5 inch SATA drive but using PCle interface.

The BM1743 use the PCle 4 interface with Samsung boasting a sequential read speed of 7,200 MB and write speed of 2000MB/s

OnePlus is rolling out lates OxygenOs 14.0.0.805 update for users in India. This update includes June 2024 secuirty patch, fixes various user interface bugs and addresses the issue of extra storage consumption by system data.

Soon when you set up new chromebook you do not need to manually enable Quick Share.

Quick Share is Google local file sharing service that works between Android, Chrome, OS and Windows. A new Chrome OS flag has appeared enables Quick Share feature by default. The visibility setting will default to Your Devices meaning you will only able to share files with own devices but can be altered.

Recent past Google introduced a new flag to Chrome OS codebase called Quick Share V2. This flag enables Quick Share v2 which defaults Quick Share to Your Devices visibility removes Selected Contacts visibility and removes the Quick Share On/off toggle.

The removal of Selected Contacts visibility setting means you would not be able to selectively filter out which of your contacts can share with you. Removing the on/off toggle means you would not be able ti disable Quick Share on your Chromebook anymore.

Moving files between your Android phone and Chromebooks is very simple due to Quick Share.

Quick Share is Samsung and Google file sharing service that help you transfer any number of files over local network connection meaning your files donot pass through the cloud.

Google is preparing to enable it by default anyway to increase its adoption.

Quick Share has available on Chromebooks since Chrome OS version 91 was released in June 2021 back when feature was still called Nearby Share.

Google has plan for overhaul of Quick Share for Chrome OS which not only includes enabling feature by default but removing the Selected Contacts visibility.

Quick Share V2 seems to involve only minor changes to feature. Google is working on mega upgrade that could be included under the V2 rollout.

Quick Shre for Chrome OS utilize a peer to peer WiFi connection for rapid file transfers bringing its performance in line with Android to Android transfer.

These changes will bring Quick Share for Chrome OS in line with Quick Share for Android which behave this way. Quick Share is displayed throughout Android share menu there is chance that some users who were not aware they could share files with their Chromebook through feature will now know they can.

According to data released by Transport Canada, Tesla continues to lead the method with almost 5,000 rebate claims while Hyundai has half that amount.

Godiva Festival 2024 will be officially start. The festival start on Friday July 5 and thousands are set to move to War Memorial Park to join in three day fun.

This year is 25th anniversary of festival and will see Paloma Faith headline the Saturday line up,

The Verve Richard Ashcroft on Friday night with Beverley Knight on Sunday.

Albert Lea Fourth of July will be filled with festivities for all ages including various annual favorites from past years.

The July Jamboree will start on July 3 with food vendors set up in North Broadway parking lot from noon to 8 pm and mobile sign shop will start from 2 to 5 pm at Central Park.

Albert Lea Freeborn County Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Shari Sprague add organizers desire to highlight successes in this year parade and hope businesses or organization have successes this year will participate.

She add they have been working hard to get more bands lined up for this year parade.

The parade travels down Bridge Avenue and turns on to Fountain Street ending at Central Park at 7 pm.

Dariel will perform live at 112 on Broadway and at 9 pm there will be block party with DJ KB at Harold Bar.

The Bayside Water Ski Club have performance on Edgewater Bay at 1 pm and annual Fourth of July car show will be downtown from 2 to 6 pm on Broadway.

The Albert Lea Community Band will begin its performance at 8 pm at Fountain Lake Park Gazebo.

On the Fourth food vendors will continue in North Broadway lot and there will be cruises running on Pelican Breeze II at noon 4 pm and 9 pm.

The boat seats 55 is handicap accessible with on board restroom and is smoke free.

The Minnesota e bike rebate application period is slated to reopen Tuesday this time with safeguards in place to control high demand.

When the application period start launched in early June technical forced officials to bring the entire system offline.

The state external vendors could not help rise in users looking to apply for rebate.

The Minnesota Department of Revenue and Minnesota IT Services revealed that those interested in rebate can apply starting at 11 am on Tuesday.

Who is eligible for the e-bike rebate?

A person must be 15 years old. They have to have lived in Minnesota for current year and past year and must not have been claimed a dependent in 2023.

How much is the e-bike rebate worth?

The rebate is 50-75% of cost of an e-bike and qualifying accessories up to maximum of $1500. Rebates will be issued on first come first served basis.

Total rebates are limited to $2 million a year in 2024 and 2025. The rebate is determined by applicant 2023 income.

What will be different about the reopened application process?

The reopened application process will feature a waiting room to control the rise of users.

About 10,000 submissions will be accepted. So they expect the application window to be brief.

This is similar method to what mega sports teams use when selling few number of tickets for their playoff games.

The rebate application will be granted to those by order of when they enter waiting room.

The user will have 15 minutes to complete and submit the application.

The state rebate program was put on hold for almost a month after the application site crashed under heavy pressure June 5.

Once allowed to reach the portal users will have 15 minutes to complete the application process.

  • Tax filing status in previous calendar year
