In a latest tweet Dr Martin Hiesboeck uphold head of research sounded an important alert that might be essential for crypto community to pay attention to.

The XRP friendly Uphold exchange Research lead highlighted a surge in phishing airdrops a tactic used by scammers to trick users into disclosing information.

One of Seattle mega annual food festival starts this weekend featuring live music, fun activities and more than 250 food retail vendors.

The Bite of Seattle famous as The Bite is free three day event at the Seattle Center where anyone can come and involve in a variety of local food and drinks.

The Bite of Seattle started in 1982 and this year starts the 42nd annual festival with exception of pandemic time cancellations.

New festival organizer FoodieLand anticipates about 450,000 persons who can enter the festival grounds for free from Friday to Sunday but pay for food once ther payment and cash card will be accepted.

Bite of Seattle’s returns to Seattle Center this weekend under new ownership featuring about 250 food and drink vendors and over 60 musical acts.

Alan Silverman owner of Seattle area restaurant Barnaby joined with local restaurant owners that were struggling with impact of Reagan era recession.

Upon Approval from mayor Charles Royer the first event was held at Green Lake Park and seeing 75,000 visitors.

The new store marks the second franchise under ownership of Douglas Keenum in Clarksville.

American restaurant chain Dickey Barbecue Pit has broadened its presence with launch of new outlet in Clarksville Tennessee.

The menu at new Clarksville location will feature a various hickory smoked meats and classic side dishes.

The new location at 2805 Fort Campbell Blvd Ste C marks second franchise under ownership of Douglas Keenum in Clarksville.

In November 2023 Dickey Barbecue Pit reopened its overhauled restaurant in Tyler Texas

Located at 1501 W SW Loop 323 the revamped restaurant venue was opened under new ownership.

The Tyle location was taken by Dickey owner and operator Douglas Edwards and his pit crew.

Dickey’s Barbecue Pit CEO Laura Read Dickey said “We are confident that Doug his crew and brand new Dickey store are going to bring legit barbecue and lasting memories to great people of Clarksville.

Project Natick was a success but did not make sense fr4om operational point.

Microsoft recently scrapped Project Natick its pioneering underwater data center project after over a decade and experts have told the project was never a feasible option for businesses.

The firm start the project back in 2013 and saw some successful results after sinking the first servers in 2018. With 855 servers submerged and left unattended for over two years. Microsoft found success rate more than the 135 unsubmerged servers they used for comparison.

Only 6 of submerged servers failed compared to 8 of those on dry land, suggesting potential in project. Underwater data centers are attractive from standpoint owing to those with liquid cooling can be performed.

There are some factors that makes the underwater data center less appealing despite its cooling potential one experts add.

The underwater technology presents a problem for firms as they are not able to update it or upgrade it as easily as they could on  land.

Dallas County is notifying more than 200,000 people that Play ransomware attack which happened in October 2023 exposed their personal information to cybercriminals.

Dallas County is 2nd mega county in Texas with more than 2.6 million residents.

In October 2023 the Play ransomware gang added Dallas to its extortion portal on dark wen threatening to leak data it stole during an attack on its systems including private  data from multiple departments.

Dallas County posted an update about incident on its website and sent data breach notices to 201,404 suffered individuals including employees, Dallas residents and others who interacted with its public services.

The leaked data review took lot of time and people were concerned.

Dallas set up a call center in January 2024.

Dallas acknowledge the incident through a statement on its site few days later.

The type of data confirmed to have exposed vary per individual and include following:

  • Health insurance information
  • Full name
  • Social Security number SSN
  • Date of birth
  • Driver’s license
  • State Identification number
  • Taxpayer identification number

Those whose SSNs and taxpayer identification number were exposed will get two years of credit monitoring

and identity theft protection services.

Dallas County and City of Dallas have both deal with various damaging cybersecurity incident recently.

In May 2023 the City of Dallas suffered a breach from Royal ransomware which forced it to take offline parts of its IT infrastructure including police communications.

In November 2023 a Dallas County employee fell victim to social engineering attack by business email compromise scammers and sent a fraudulent payment of $2,400,000.

BleepingComputer learned at time that Royal was printing ransom notices on City printers which had fallen under attackers control.

It was later establish that Royal operators leverage stolen account credentials to maintain access to compromise systems between April 7 and May during which they exfiltrated more than ITB of data.

Nullbulge on their website boast of having hacked over 10,000 channels every message and file possible.

Disney confirmed on Monday that it is investigating a reported cyberattack on its internal slack workplace messaging system.

The hack allegedly carried out by group called Nullbulge is said to have compromised thousands of Slack channels and exposed sensitive data including unreleased images, login details, links to internal pages.

Disney has assured that they are investigating the matter and will take actions to address the situation.

Nullbulge on their website boasts of having hacked almost 10,000 channels every messages and file possible. While full extent of breach has not been verified the WSJ reviewed some of leaked material which date back to 2019 and included discussion on topics ranging from website maintenance employee photos and employ assesments.

The group claims to have targeted Disney due to worry about Company handling of artist contracts its approach to AI and blatant disregard of the consumer.

The group reportedly accessed the data through a Disney software development manager whose computer they compromised twice. The group has previously stolen personal data and online credentials which they then published online including the private data of Disney employee in question.

The public disclosure of company internal messages codes and documents can cause huge disruption company and undermine its commercial objectives.
