In “28 Years Later ” the Rage Virus that turned Britian post apocalyptic in the original film has evolved meaning the survivors have new types of infected to deal with.
Spike Alfie Williams a 12 year old boy is movie protagonist.
He lives on island of Lindisfance cut off from mainland by tide which save community from Rage Virus.

His father Jamie Aaron Taylor Johnson takes him hunting on mainland as rite of passage and spike learns how dangerous rest of country has become after 28 years virus spreading.

“28 Yeard Later” introduces “Slow Lows” and “Alphas”
On mainland Jamie reminds Spike to vigilant of infected and explains there are Slow Lows who crawl on ground eating bugs.
The Slow Lows plae in comparison to Alphas who are much bigger and stronge than other infected.
One Alpha who is nicknamed SamsonChi Lewis Parry shows his power by ripping a solidier head off along with his spine with his bare hands.
The Alphas can withstand getting struck by several arrows without dying they can be killedby mega flaming javelins used by guards on Lindisfarne gate.
Jamie tells Spike that in specific people the Rage Virus acts bodybuilding steroids which appears to make them invulnerable to minor suffering.
The Alphas make thing difficult for Spike and his mother Isla Jodie Comer when they go looking for doctor on mainland and come across one in ruins of old train.
Knowing they can not kill Alpha cranks up terror in nail biting chase sequence.
Slow lows are more bloated than original infected and skin is pale and mottled.
They are easire to kill from distance their loud screams draw attention.

Jamie chooses not to kill one of Slow Lows when he realized she is a little girl and she flees into undergrowth when he lets her go.
