The potential of machining debris inside engines of 2022 and 2023 Toyota Tundra pickups and Lexus LS luxury SUVs triggered a recall of 102,000 models.

The problem cause engine knocking, rough running or prevent motor from starting.

Toyota revealed the recall Thursday and said engines might contain machining debris from manufacturing process which could cause loss of engine power that raises risk of accident.

Toyota owners can call Toyota brand Engagement Center at 800-331-4331 to learn more.

The 102,000 recalled vehicles were sold in U.S.

The vehicles were powered by Toyota current generation V35A-FTS twin turbocharged V-6.

The optional i force Max Hybrid powertrain is not impacted by recall notice

Toyota has issued safety recall for over 1 lac Tundra pickup trucks and Lexus LX600 SUVs in North America as result of debris inside models V-6 engines left over from machining process during production.

The recall specifically applies to certain My2022-My2023 products which are powered by Toyota current generation V35-AFTs twin turbocharged V-6.

There is a chance that engine machining debris was not properly cleaned from impacted engines during construction phase contaminating entire batch.

The recall links to models that are powered by V35A engine equipped with specific crankshaft main bearing that permit crank to rotate within the engine assembly.

Due to large amount of pressure on main bearing in specific engine configuration, debris adhere to bearing sunder consistent high load over time.

This can cause bearings to fail and may result in engine knock rough running or no start situation.

The chance of sudden loss of power while at speed which increase the chance of accident.

it is more indicative of worse batch of engines than an inherent design flaw on part of Toyota.

102,000 Tundra pickups and LX600 SUVs are impacted by recall in North America with base engine in platforms being specially impacted.
