More slipping of the ground at the Barboursville Target is causing more threat to the building on Wednesday.
WSAZ first told you about the slip forcing the store to temporarily shut a couple of weeks ago.
Barboursville Mayor Chris Tatum says ground behind Target moved more during the last several days, overnight.
Damage has been done to the perimeter and roadway behind the building and the building itself.
One resident works at a massage business across from Target She says it was surprising to view the images of the damage Wednesday morning.
Another resident say it looks insane.
Tatum says Target has experts and engineers on site assessing the damage.
Utility crews are on site monitoring the sewer system. The mayor says all businesses in the plaza remain open and not believed to be in any threat.
He say safety is most important factor for everyone involved.
Residents are 3 homes behind the store received voluntary evacuation notices from Target before to this latest slip. The mayor expresses Target offered to cover relocating costs to those residents.
This latest slip will affect store future, the mayor said its too early to express , however he added the business will not be making any moves to open too soon.
Target expressed a statement on Saturday well before this latest slip saying the store was expected to closed for a prolonged period.
