911 calls unveils how teenage Halifax Walmart worker died in terrible oven accident

A chilling emergency services dispatch call has shown how a 19 year old girl became trapped in an oven at Walmart leading to her death.

The teenager was working at the Halifax store in Nova Scotia when she became trapped inside a walk in oven in bakery on Saturday night.

Halifax Regional Police focused the investigation is ongoing and that medical examiner will decide the official cause of death.

Martin Cromwell a police officer in Halifax showed the investigation was complex.

He said

‘We understand the public is involved and just desired to encourage the public to be patient with our investigation and be mindful that there are family members and coworkers involved”.

Walmart Canada add they were heartbroken and our deepest thoughts are with our asscoiate and their family.

We extend our sincerest condolences to those who were closest to them.

The statement continued

‘We are also supporting our associates during this incredibly difficult time and have access to 24/7 virtual care and will provide on site support including grief counselling.’

Investigators are working closely with Occupational Health and Safety and the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service to decide the cause and manner of death.

The investigation is in early phases no further details are available this time.

‘On October 19 at 9:30 pm police were called to sudden death at Walmart located at 6990 Mumford Road.

A 19 year old lady employed at store was found deceased.

A dispatch officer detailed the tragedy to first responders unveiling there was female locked in oven in bakery.

It is understood the girl only arrived in Canada within last three years and was linked to Maritime Sikh Society.

By the time first responders arrived on scene they told dispatch the woman was out of the oven.

She died at scene.
