Minnesotans can apply for a $ 1,500 e-bike rebate starting Wednesday

The rebates are value up to $1,500 depending on income.

Applications for Minnesota new e bike rebate program opens on Wednesday offering up to $1,500 per purchase.

Depending on income, discount is 50% to 75% of purchaser qualifying expenses.

The rebate value can not exceed the price of e bike.

The latest program is designed to decrease cost of new e bike from eligible retailers initiating on July 1.

Applications will be accepted as 11 am. Wednesday through Minnesota Department of Revenue.

An online portal opened for retailers to apply to be eligible retailer for program on May 1.

The program permits up to  $2 million annually in rebates to be claimed in 2024 and 2025.

The state says it will stop accepting application once it gets 10,000.

The department of revenue website has built in calculator to estimate how much your rebate will be.

The state approves your rebate you must use it an approved retailer within 2 months or it will expire. The department adds if there is money left in program after Oct, 1

The state will issue more rebates to individuals who applied but did not get certificate initially.

  • At least 15 years of age
  • A Minnesota resident at least this year and in 2023
  • Date of birth
  • Social Security number
  • Tax filing status
  • 2023 adjusted gross income
