Sony is taking Concord offline on September 6th after worse launch

Firewalk Studios will issue refunds for Concord across PC and PS5 and explore choices that will better reach our players.

Sony is taking Concord its Playstation game offline on September 6th following worse sales of the game.

The first person hero shooter launched exclusively on PC and PS5 on August 23rd but guess have put sales at less than 25,000.

Concord handle to hit an all time peak of 697 players on Steam less than the launch peak of The Lord of the Rings Gollum regarded as the bad game of 2023.

If you bought the game for PS5 from the PlayStation Store a refund will be issued to your original payment method.

If you bought Concord on Steam you will get a refund in the coming days and the same will happen on the Epic Games Store.

Firewalk Studios mention of choices that will better reach our players and the refunds make it look like Concord if it does return will move to a free to play model.

“We have decided to take the game offline beginning September 6, 2024 and explore choices consisting those that will better reach our players” Concord game director says.

“While we determine the best path ahead. Concord sales will cease immediately and we will start to offer a full refund for all gamers who have bought the game for PC or PS5.”

Concord launched as a $40 game after 8 years of development and went up against multiple free to play changes like even Valorant and Overwatch in contesting hero shooter genre.

It has failed to contest as paid game without a unique selling.

Sony revealment of Concord shutdown two weeks after it went on sales has sent its players into overdrive as they attempt to safe its Platinum trophy.

Concord itself is one mega failure in PlayStation history a game one of its developers said was in works for eight years.

There is now worry of its developer Firewalk and Sony faces harsh queries about its upcoming live services games.

Concord launch was failure with analyst saying it sold as 25,000 units. It debuted to a 697 peak concurrent players on Steam a number that made 12,786 players of Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League which was a disappointment by Warner Bros, Discovery boss David Zaslav and caused a $200 million drop to revenue.

Concord players were throwing Rivalry matches in bid to earn points as quick as possible.

Rivalry mode seems two team of five players fight for win across best of seven single life rounds.

Now players beginning a match and running off a platform to their doom resulting in a win for opposing group at end of the round.
