A medical service provider locate in Whitley County and area college are getting a portion of $45.3 million that the US Department of Agriculture Rural Development has awarded for projects across Kentucky.

Medical professionals at Dayspring Health Inc will deliver primary care telehealth throughout Kentucky and Tennessee regions to 9 locations benefitting 4120 individual with funding.

Dayspring Health Inc. wil use a $746, 351 distance learning and telemedicine grant to equip 9 hub user sites throughout Whitley County and Campbell and Claiborne counties in eastern Tennessee with telemedicine pods and accessories.

The City of Barbourville will use a $36,000 community facility grant to continue maintaining roadway and facilities with new street department vehicle. This investment will impact more than 3000 people.

Instructors at Union College in Knox County will deliver registered nurse to Bachelor of Science in Nursing and pre licensure to Bachelor of Science in Nursing courses to 4 location benefiting 1024 students and 110 faculty members in rural Kentucky communities.

Moses Drilling Company LLC use a $13600 Rural Energy for America Program Grant to install a 11.05 Kw rooftop solar system.

This project is estimated to save $1295.91 per year.
