Lawsuit claims dating sites use addictive game like features to encourage compulsive use

On Valentine’s Day six dating apps users filed a lawsuit accusing hinge app, bumble app and tinder Match of using addictive game like features to encourage compulsive use.

Various of us have worse experiences of being swiped left, breadcrumber, ghosted and benched on internet dating apps however a few person have thought to take their heartbreak to court.

A latest survey found that millennials spend 10 hours a week on dating sites such as raya dating app, grinder, fluff and are addicted to scrolling just like social media which has bad effect on their mental health.

The complaint alleges that Match applications employ recognised dopamine manipulating product features to trap users into becoming gamblers locked in a search for psychological rewards that Match makes elusive on purpose.

The six plaintiff who live in California, New York, Georgia and Florida called this inconsistent with Matchs ad slogan that its apps ares designed to be deleted.

Match expressed This lawsuit is ridiculous and has zero merit. “Our business model is not based on ads or engagement metrics. We actively strive to get people on dates every day and off our apps. Anyone who states anything else does not understand the aim and mission of our entire industry.

The lawsuit resembles a slew of litigation accusing Google parent Alphaber Googl.O Facebook and Instagram parent Meta Platforms META. Tiktok parent ByteDance and Snapchat paren Snap of knowingly designing features to addict millions of children to their platforms.

Outback Steakhouse leaves Hawaii notice of their closures stunns staff

As of Sunday Feb 18 all Outback Steakhouse location will be closing their door in Hawaii permanently. The chain looks to be pulling out of Hawaii with little notice to staff.

KHON2 get a tip from employee that staff was alerted about the closure Saturday morning and some employee searching out as the door open Saturday afternoon.

A manager at various location confirmed Sunday Feb 18 would be restaurant final day and it was due ti higher prices and utilities.

Dozens of waipio employees met outside the restaurant before shift on saturday.

In 2023 Outback Steakhouse parent company Bloomin Brand Inc. declared it would be closing its Hawaii Kai and Kihei locations. As February 2024 the 3 remaining locations were Waipio, Kona and Kapolei.

Sheryl Matsuoka executive director of Hawaii Restaurant Association confirmed the new she too heard about it only a few hours before and said its devastating for Hawaii and show hard it is for restaurants to operate in the state.

She said it is even scarier to see a big chain with a lot of financial backing leaving the state. Can you imagine the small mom and pops who do not have that huge backing? she said.

Man died in violent dog mauling at Compton home

A man died after attacked by dogs Friday morning at residential area in Compton.

The victim was announced dead at the scene. He was not identified.

Los Angeles County sheriff deputies responded shorty at 7 am to a report of violent drug mauling at home in the 900 block of Thorson Avenue just south of Rosecrans Avenue.

The man body on the ground in an outdoor keenel on property.

 Deputies and 2 women were view attending to other person in front but it was unclear that individual was injured or being consoled.

Other dogs were seen on the property. How many of them may have been involved in the attack was unknown.

2 dead following shooting on UCCS campus in Colorado

The University of Colorado Colorado Springs campus was on lockdown Friday morning. Two people were seemed dead in a dorm. The lockdown has been lifted for the whole campus.

Colorado Springs Police say that lockdown was put in place tied to a call for shots fired at about 6 am.

Police provided update at 11 10 am expressing they were early in the investigative process and did not have various details to share. The 2 deaths are being investigated at homicides.

Details on suspect or suspects were not shared with public last moment this article was updated at 11:10 am. The campus was shut for rest of the day.

UCCS said that counselling services would offered for students and staff.

McDonald’s offering File O Fish deal for Lent

McDonald’sis offering a deal on its Filet O Fish sandwich for the season of Lent. Consumers who bought the crispy fish sandwich will be able to get a second for just $1. The deal started on Feb,14 the first day of Lent and will run through late March. This year Lent ends on March 28. The offer is only at participating location.

The McDonald’s Filet O Fish features a crispy fish filet patty on melty American cheese topped with creamy McDonald tartar sauce and serve on soft steamed bun.

2024 is a year of change for McDonald. The restaurant revealed its hamburger, double cheeseburger, cheeseburger McDouble burger and Big Macs will have meltier cheese and fresher lettuce and tomatoes.
