Colorado Hunter big winner on college football awards night

Travis Hunter is throwback type player an elite receiver one moment a lockdown cornerback the next who leaves the field and has knack for making big plays all over it.

Hunter is Associated Press college football Player of the Year receiving 26 of 43 votes Thursday from panel of AP Top 25 voters.

Boise State tailback Ashton Jeanty finished second with 16 votes and Arizona State running back Cam Skattebo received one vote.

Hunter kept piling up hardware later Thursday night. He won Walter Camp Award as player of year along with Chuck Bednarik Award as top defensive player and Biletnikoff Award for best wide receiver.

The coach of the year was Indiana Curt Cignetti who led his team to College Football Playoff after being picked to finish 17th of 18 Big Ten Teams.

South Carolina defensive end Kyle Kennard captured the Bronco Nagurski Trophy as top defensive player racking up 11 1/2 sacks and 18 1/2 tackles for defeat.

The Jim Thorpe Award as best defensive back went to Texas cornerback Jahdae Barron who led the SEC with five interceptions.

Ohio State center Seth McLaughlin and Alabama transfer won Rimington Trophy.

Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe won William V Campbell Award as top scholar athlete. Oregon leading tackler Bryce Boettcher capture Burlsworth Trophy as best player who started his career as walk on.

Georgia Jalon Walker won Butkus Award as nation best linebacker heading into playoffs with 57 tackles including 6 1/2 sacks and 10 1/2 tackles for loss.

Texas left tackle Kelvin Banks jr was Outland Trophy winner as top interior lineman.

Penn State Tyler Warren won John Mackey Award given to most outstanding tight end after setting school single season record with 67 catches for 808 yards.

He played 688 defensive snaps and 672 more on offense the lone Power Four conference player with 30 plus snaps on both sides of ball.

Hunter finished the regular season with 92 catches for 1152 yards and 14 touchdowns as receiver.

On defense he had four interceptions broke up 11 passes and forced one which secured an OT win over Baylor.

Hunter had 92 receptions and allowed 22. He hauled in 14 receiving TDs and allowed just one.

He was responsible for 53 first downs and gave up just six.

He was targeted 119 times by quarterback Shedeur Sanders & Co but only 39 time by opposing QBs.

Hunter final match in Boulder a rout of Oklahoma State was three touchdown one interception performance.

“I m used to seeing him do all this spectacular stuff” Shedeur Sanders said

‘I hurt my brothers’: Woman admits to wrongly accusing Duke lacrosse players of rape in 2006

After two decades after making national headlines when she accused Duke lacrosse players of rape. Crystal Mangum is seeking forgiveness.

Mangum who is incarcerated for 2011 murder of her boyfriend was interviewed in November for the podcast “Lets talk with Kat”.

The interview was posted online on Thursday and believed to be first time she admitted the accusation were wrong.

“I betrayed the trust of a lot of other people who believed in me and made up a story that was not true because I wanted validation from and not from God” she continued.

“That was wrong when God already loved me for who I was. I did not need to seek validation from Him because I already had validation from Him. I Just did not know it”.

Mangum was convicted of her boyfriend murder in 2013. She was sentenced to 14-18 years in prison.

“I hurt my brothers. I want them to know I love them and they did not deserve it. I hope they can forgive me”.

During the interview Mangum was asked about topics consisting of foods she looks forward to eating when she leaves prison what she would do if she was president. why she became an exotic dance and her experiences and if she had any regrets.

In 2006 Mangum accused three players on the Duke lacrosse team of raping her.

The charges against players were dropped the following year.

At end of interview Mangum mentioned the three former players by name and described them as her brothers”

“They took me into their home” Mangum said.

“The Bible says you should not do harm to your neighbor that lives trustingly beside you. They were my brothers and they trusted I would not betray their trust. I testified falsely against them by saying they raped me when they did not and that was wrong”
