Warner Bros will release first of its new batch of live action ” The Lord of the Rings” movie in 2026 which will focus on Andy Serkis Gollum.
The Project is in early phase of script development from writers Walsh and Boyens along with Arty Papageorgiou and Phoebe Gittins and will show storyline to be told.
” The Lord of the Rings” filmmaker Peter Jackson and partners Fran Walsh and Philippa Boyens are producing film and will be involved every step of way.
The studio showed that working title for the movie is “Lord of the Rings”: “The Hunt for Gollum” and will be directed by and star Serkis in iconic titular role.
The movie will be produce by Ken Kamins with Serkis and The Imaginarium Jonathan Cavendish.
The projects will be developed through WB label New Line Cinema. Freemode a division of Embracer Group made adaptive rights deal for books including ” The Lord of the Rings” and ” The Hobbit” under venture named Middle earth Enterprises.
Warner Bros, fist declared in February 2023 newly installed studio leaders Mike De Luca and Pam Abdy had broke a deal to make various movies based on JRR Tolkien books.

Movie is set 200 years before events of ” The Hobbit”.
Jackson first “LOTR” trilogy starred Elijah Wood, Ian McKellen, Viggo Mrotensen, Sean Astin and Cate Blanchett.
