The first concert at Camp Randall in almost 30 years will feature Morgan Wallen as the main act.

This summer, country music icon Morgan Wallen will play the main act at Madison’s Camp Randall Stadium for the first time since 1997.

Wallen’s June 28 performance, which is part of his “I’m the Problem 2025 Tour,” will open for Miranda Lambert and Ella Langley.

An Anticipated Visit Back to Camp Randall

This concert will mark the first major event at the University of Wisconsin-Madison football stadium in nearly three decades.

While Coldplay announced a show for July 19, Wallen’s performance will officially reestablish the stadium as a concert venue

From 1988 to 1997, Camp Randall featured a small number of concerts with well-known performers like Pink Floyd, U2, and the Rolling Stones. After alcohol sales in general sitting sections were approved last summer—a big element in drawing major events—concerts have returned to the stadium.

“It’s a nice amenity for fans and, frankly, a prerequisite for these kinds of stadium shows,” said Jason King, senior assistant athletic director for UW Athletics, underscoring the significance of this resource.

Morgan Wallen’s Unprecedented Ascent

The title single from Wallen’s fourth album, I’m the Problem, was just released, and his tour falls inside that time frame.

The country music icon has had incredible success, including setting a record in 2023 when he became the first performer to play the main act at Milwaukee’s American Family Field for two nights in a row.

With two albums in Billboard’s year-end top 10, Wallen maintained his dominance of the charts in 2024 and won awards including the Country Music Association Awards’ entertainer of the year.

How to Purchase Tickets

Until January 28, fans can register for presale access on Wallen’s own website, morganwallen.com.

Tickets for the general public will go on sale at uwbadgers.com on January 31 at 10 a.m. Prices have not yet been disclosed.

A Wisconsin Summer of Music

Megan Thee Stallion will perform at Milwaukee’s Summerfest on the same day as Wallen’s show on June 28.

Wallen’s performance is anticipated to draw a sizable audience despite this scheduling conflict, which would be an important milestone for Camp Randall as a concert venue.
