300,000 Air Fryers sold at Walmart, Target, Kohl nationwide recall after reports of burns

If you have buy an air fryer over the past few years you may desire to take a cautious view at it. An announcement from the US Consumer Product Safety Commission CPSC Empower Brands is recalling 300,000 of its PowerXL Air Fryers after reports burns.

The CPSC tells that customers should stop using the recalled dual basket air fryers and contact Empower Brands to get a full refund. This recall consist of two models of the PowerXL dual basket air fryer DUAF-005 and DUAF-10. CPSC notice says “these egg shaped air fryers have tow baskets that can be used separately or combined into one big single basket and its combo of these baskets that create a major threat. The Plastic U Channel connector used the two food baskets inside the air fryers can break during use creating a burn hazard”

The recalled air fryers were sold at Walmart, Kohls and Target other stores nationwide from August 2021 to October 2023. They coul be purchase online Walmart.com, Target.com and Khols.com. Retail for $60 to $190 depending on the model.

Empower Brand has get 41 complain of the product breaking during use, including 3 reports of burns. Due to this hazard the CPSC notes that customers should stop using the recalled dual basket air fryers and contact Empower Brands to get a full refund.

How do you know if your air fryer is one of 319000 appliance included in this recall? According to CPSC the recalled air fryers were sold in black or cinnamon colors. The 9 quart DUAF-005 model is 14 inches long by 13 inches wide by 15 inches tall and weight about 14 pounds. The 10 quart DUAF 10 model is about 17 inches long by 16 inches wide by 12 1/2 inches tall and wieght is 14.5 pounds.
