The race for New York City mayor is tightening as it moves into its final stretch.

With over than a week to go before Election Day and early voting already underway with stronger turnout than four year before independent candidate Andrew Cuomo has cut Democrat nominee Zohran Mamdani lead in half to 10 points according to Suffolk University Boston poll.

A similar poll by Suffolk University Boston in September had Mamdani ahead of cuomo by 20 points.

The latest poll was conducted after Mayor Eric Adams endorsed Cuomo past week.

Mamdani, Silwa pleased with voter turnout

Mamdani who army of tens of thousands of enthusiastic volunteers helping to get out the vote called the turnout great.

“I think we should always celebrate when more New Yorkers are going to polls and i continue to confident in our campaign as well as in out outreach to voters above the age of 55 and also i will not permit myself to become complacent.

Silwa said he is not giving up.

The people will determine who the next mayor of city of New York is through their votes.

Once they are tallied on night of Nov 4 and i will do what i have done every day in this campaing since i announced in mid february which is go down into the subways and to ride with passengers.

It is hard to know what early voting turnout really means. When Michael Bloomberg first ran for mayor in aftermath of 9/11 as Republican he was behind Democrat Mark Green until final week of campaing when Rudy  Giuliani endorsed him.

What the latest NYC mayor race poll shows

Mamdani remains the frontrunner leading Coumo 44% 34%. Republican nominee Curtis Silwa is third place with 11% Some 7% of those remain undecided.

This is first poll in months that show gap between Mamdani and Coumo narrowing.

The poll surveyed 600 llike New York City general election voters.

The margin of error is 4.4%.

There is one man in New York City whose voters could have outsized impact on outcome. said David.

That person is not Mayor Eric Adams Rep Hakeem Jeffries Sen Chuck Schumer or new york billionaire.’

It is Republican Curtis Silwa whose voters hold the 11% blocking Cuomo from winning the race.

This is two man race momentum is on out side and more New Yorkers learn about how dangerous inexperienced Zohran Mamdani is about his extreme agenda the less they liek what they see.

Polls can change in second and i expect one or two more that might show its back to 20 or might ahow its down to five so its pretty volatile race.
