FCC Opens Probe into Mega AT&T Outage

The Federal Communication Commission confirmed thursday that it has launched what it say will be a thorough probe into massive network outage AT&T suffer last month that left million of consumers without mobile service.

New York AG investigating AT&T nationwide outages

New York Attorney General Letitia james declared Thursday that she was launching investigation into nationwide AT&T service outage that affected about 3 quarter of its consumers.

In press release Thursday james said her office will investigate the cause and company response to outage and urged New Yorkers who affected by file complaints with her office.

In a press release Feb 25 AT&T added that based on initial review it has determined the outage was caused by application of incorrect process used while working to expand our network.

Americans rely on cell service providers for reliable and consistent service to assist them with every aspect of daily lives.James said

Her announcement comes one week after nationwide outage disrupted millions of consumer service.

She said ” Nationwide outages are not just an inconvenience they can be dangerous and it is critical we protect customers when outage occurs.

We all know that our consumers get value and convenience for nominal daily cost of our service and outages impact on some subscribers that greater than face value of credit.

Verizon’s network team is not laughing about AT&T outage

  • The outage lasted over 10 hours for some consumers
  • AT&T said it credit affected consumers for average cost of full day of service
  • The full impact of costs and outage will incur are still unknown

In general we do not wish outages on anybody said Verizon SVP of Network Planning Adam Koeppe on sidelines of MWC.

That is never fun.

The network outage at AT&T affected the consumers of T Mobile and Verizon as well they could not call AT&T consumer and vice versa.

It was not entire clear whose network were down.

AT&T said initial review of the cause indicates it was due to application and execution of incorrect process used while working to expand our network,
