CrowdStrike the cybersecurity firm crashed millions of computers with a botched update across globe past week is offering its partners a $10 Uber Eat gift card as an apology
On Tuesday a firm received an email from CrowdStrike offering them gift card because company recognizes the additional work that July 19 incident has caused.
And for that we send our heartfelt thanks and apologies for inconvenience.
The email was sent from CrowdStrike email address in name of Daniel Bernard the company chief business officer.
On Friday CrowdStrike released a faulty update that rendered around 8.5 million windows devices unusable according to Microsoft.
The news caused the affected computers to be stuck at infamous blue screen of death or BSOD a bright blue error screen with text that shown when Windows crashes.
The outage caused delay at airports in Amsterdam, Berlin, London and Dubai and across the US. It caused several hospitals to halt surgery and paralyzed numerous businesses across globe.
The company published apologies from its CEO George Kurtz as well as its Chief Security officer Shawn Henry.
The outage start on Friday CrowdStrike has published updates on its efforts to trace what is reason of mega outage.

“Nothing is more important to me than the trust and confidence that our customers and partners have put into crowdstrike.
The past two days have been most challenging 48 hours for me over 12+ years. The confidence we built in drips more than the years was lost in buckets within hours and it was a gut punch.
On Wednesday some of the people who posted about gift card said that when they went to redeem the offer they got an error message saying the voucher had been canceled.
CrowdStrike is facing fresh backlash after giving firms and staff they work with a $10 UberEats voucher to say sorry for global IT outage that caused massive chaos across airlines banks and hospitals last week.
One Linkedin user said The gesture of cup of coffee credit as an apology seem to make up for tens of thousands losts in man hours and customers trust due to july 19 incident.

The company said it could prevent the incident from happening again with better software testing and checks including scrutiny from developers.
Cyber Security consultant Daniel Card said “What clear from post morterm is they did not seem to have right guardrails in place to prevent this type of incident to decrease the risk of it occurring
Dogecoin co founder Billy Markus does not thinek offer is more enough to cover the damages incurred due to outage. He said that is not gonna prevent the multi billion dollar lawsuit.
A couple of firms revealed their non exposure to unfortunate global outage. Mega percentage of these firms are crypto and Web 3 companies. Polygon Labs admitted to using CrowdStrike service but their system does not affect by global failure.
