300 types of canned coffee products distributed nationwide across various coffee roasters and retailers are being recalled.
According to US Food and Drug Administration Snapchill LLC a Wisconsin based company is recalling all of its canned coffee products within expiration date because they learned the company manufacturing method could lead a potential danger from food poisoning.
According to US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Botulism is rare but severe illness that can cause breathing problem, muscle paralysis, and death.
The FDA adds symptoms can start from 6 hours to two weeks after eating food that contains the toxin.
The recall alert states manufacturing method could lead to growth and production of deadly toxin, botulinum toxin in low acid canned foods.
The recalled products were sold under range of roaster and brand names and in variety of metal can sizes ranging from 7 oz to 12 oz.
Impact products either be destroyed or returned to snapchill or place of purchase for a refunds report the FDA.
The FDA adds that no illnesses have reported as result of recalled products that Snapchill is not aware of any products containing the toxin.
According to the FDA the canned products were distributed nationwide through dozens of coffee roaster and retail shops including several in Raleigh areas and Charlotte:

The symptoms of botulism may include following: slurred speech, drooping eyelids,difficulty swallowing, breathing, blurred vision, dry mouth, muscle weakness.
These symptoms result from muscle paralysis caused by toxin.If untreated the disease may progress and symptoms may worsen to cause paralysis of muscle, including those used in breathing and those in legs, arms and body from neck to pelvis area.
Anyone who has consume any recalled product and developed signs of botulism poisoning should seek medical attention according to US Centres for Disease Control and Prevention CDC.
In foodborne botulism symptoms start 18 to 36 hours after eating contaminated food. Symptoms can start as soon as 6 hours or up to 10 days later.
The manufacturer Snapchill had error in their documentation with FDA. As a result any products in stock that manufactured have to be destroyed a Summit Coffee team member who said their recalled drinks were only used for events. IT is super unfortunate they have indicated that they are offering entire product refunds. There are other coffee companies that are more impacted than we are.

Larry Coffee general manager Garrett White said recall means several thousands of its canned cold brews will be destroyed. White said timing of the recall is a gut punch as North Carolina enters a summer heat wave.
