Auburn upsets No 15 Texas A&M 43-41 in 4 overtimes, despite SEC title hopes are alive

KeAndre Lambert Smith two point conversion catch in fourth overtime gave Auburn a 43-41 win over No 15 Texas A&M at Jordan Hare Stadium on Saturday night.

Amari Daniels dropped would have been tying score to give Tigers the victory.

The two teams field goals in second overtime with Auburn Ian Vachon hitting a 41 yard kick and Texas A&M Randy Bond answering with 42 yarder.

In first overtime Jahdae Walker 12 yard touchdown catch gave Aggies a 38-31 lead.

Auburn answered on ensuing possession assisted by pass interference penalty on Jayyon Thomas put Tigers on 2 yard line.

Jarquez Hunter scored a TD two plays later to send match to second OT.

For Texas A&M Marcel Reed threw for 297 yards three TD and pick completing 22 of 35 passes.

He rushed for 66 yards on 21 carries. Edwards had 90 yards and score on 26 rushes.

Thomas notched five catches for 124 yards and two TDs Walker added 69 yards and TD on seven receptions.

The Tigers drove toward tying or go ahead score on final possession driving 79 yards in two minutes.

Two consecutive 11 yards run by Hunter got Auburn to 7 yards line but two false penalties and Damari Alston  falling after 4 yard gain forced the Tigers to settle for field goal.

Vachon 29 yard kick sent game into overtime.

Thorne finished with 301 yards two touchdown and interception on 19 of 31 passing Hunter moved for 130 yards and three scores on 28 carries.

Cam Coleman led Auburn with seven receptions for 128 yards and two TD followed by Lambert Smith two catches for 104 yards.

Daniels scored on 8 yard touchdown run with 4:05 remaining in regulation and it appeared that Texas A&M had completed amazing comeback to keep conference title match hopes alive.

Payton Thorne interception to start fourth quarter gave Aggies the break they needed to finally get on top.

Randy Bond hit 32 yard field goal after turnover to cut Auburn lead to four points.

Texas A&M defense then forced two consecutive three and outs by Tigers to put attack in position to gain lead.
