Microsoft first launch the new Outlook for Windows app in preview form in May 2022. The company revealed the app as available for personal use.
The company revealed that app will become available for commercial users starting on August 1, 2024.
In March Microsoft open up its guidance for business and organization for making transition from the classic. Outlook app to new Outlook Microsoft has not indicated when will reveal the 12 month countdown from switching new Outlook from an opt in and opt out experience.
The final stage will be cut off way for users of new Outlook app to switch back to classic Outlook app. Switching from opt in to opt out for new Outlook app organization will get one year months advance notice before new stage goes into effect.
Outlook app can keep doing so for quite a while as help for app is not expected to end until at least 2029.
Microsoft 365 admin center this change will not affect any commercial users who continue to get the classic Outlook for Windows app.
The new Outlook for Windows app has reached the GA status which permit users to get full help from company support channels which includes use of Assisted support.
