The former 1st lady won the award for best audio book storytelling and narration recording at this year pre telecast ceremony for doing the voiceover on her latest book The Light We Carry Overcoming in Uncertain Times.

The category included Sen Bernie Sanders, Meryl Steep, William Shatner and Rick Rubin books.

Obama previously won a Grammy in 2020 for audiobook for her first memoir, Becoming. She was not present to accept the award presenter Esperanza Spalding added she would accept on her behalf.

Michelle win for The Light We Carry she ties her Grammy count with husband and former President Barack Obama who has 2 awards in the spoken word category.

The Light We Carry published in November 2022 is a collection of Obama experience as political figure a spouse, a mother and woman in world.In telling stories that offer “insightful reflections on change challenge and power”. Obama work for her 3rd book has earned her a position on the New York Time Bestseller list and nabber her an Emmy nomination through a Netflix with Oprah.

Half a memoir and half a self help book Obama nonfiction project arose from the world ongoing political unrest and uncertainty in face of the COVID 19 pandemic.
