Kabosu the dog famous on internet as inspiration behind the Doge meme cryptocurrency has died.

Kabosu died on May 2024 according to blog post form his owner Atsuko Sato published same day.

Farewell party will be held on Sunday at Flower Kaori in Kotsu no Mori Narita City.

Kabosu was more than 17 years old at time of death and had been in poor condition for a long time.

Various fans are saying goodbye to Kabosu on X/Twitter.

The Shiba Inu dog famous after 2014 image of him happened to be simply too good for internet.

It was immortalized in internet culture as Doge meme involving images of Kabosu adorned with conic sans text.
