Protester call for end of YSL trial as judge considers possible mistrial

The disruption in trial happened on Wednesday when a witness unveiled information the jury was not supposed to hear.Supporters of Atlanta rapper Young Thug are planning a protest to call for end of YSL Rico trial.The case now longest in Georgia history is pause until Monday while judge consider declaring a mistrial.Fans of Atlanta rapper Young Thug are gathering at Fulton County Courthouse to call for end to nearly year long YSL RICO trial.Multiple social media accounts reported that defense attorney met with Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis and Chief Deputy District Attorney Adriane Love on Thursday morning to potential plea deals.The group add their protest is not helping Young Thug but instead is safeguarding the principles of justice and fairness that underpin the legal system.Protest organizers add they are worried about what they call prosecutorial misconduct in high profile case.”My message is at what point do we say this is unfair? What point does the justice system say we got it wrong? We either need to rethink what we are doing and do mistrial or dismiss the trial and when I say try again, I do not mean try again with the case”.The YSL RICO trial and Young Thug trial is longest criminal trial in Georgia history.There are five individuals on trial with Jeffery Williams aka Young Thug.It will be up to each defendant whether they decide to accept a plea deal from state.

Some of defendants are facing more serious charges including murders than others.

The trial has been plagued with delays and disruption consisting of illnesses the arrest of lawyer and juror the stabbing of one of defendants in jail and removal of judge originally assigned to case.

The latest incident happened on Wednesday when rapper Slimlife Shawty one of original 28 defendants took stand.

The prosecutor said him to review social media post to others involved in case.

The witness read aloud the caption FREE QUA unveiling data the Jury was not supposed to know regarding defendants were incarcerated.

Now jury has heard about Mr Nichols being in jail being in prison and we cannot unring that bell so we will ask for mistrial

Judge Whitaker acknowledge the gravity of situation but said that she would not grant a mistrial with prejudice meaning the case could not be retried.

She did show she would consider granting a mistrial without prejudice.
