Lake Lure Dam no longer risk of failure, official confirms

As of 8 pm engineers with Rutherford County evaluated the Lake Lure Dame and decided it is not risk of failure any longer.

Evacuation sirens are surrounding downstream of the dam and emergency personnel are going door to door to make sure that everyone has been escaped.

Any person above Lattimore Road should shelter in place until evacuations can resume.

An emergency shelter is available at RS Central High School.

If you are not within evacuation zone official said that you remain home due to harsh conditions on the road.
