Eligible Pennsylvanians can now apply for rent and property tax rebates of up to $1,000

Hundreds of thousands of with disabilities and older adults are now able to apply for rebates of up to $1,000. Shapiro expressed older adults have told him the state needs to do more to keep up with the inflationa and his administration has promised to assist.

Shapiro declared on Tuesday, Pennsylvania Rent /Property Tax rebate program is now open. The standard rebate is now $100 up from $650 after shapiro signed bipartisan legislature into law previous year.

The income limits have been spiked for the first time since 2006 to $45,000 making almost 175,000 over Pennsylvanians eligible for the program. The income limits will now be tied to the cost of living so won;t be charged out of the program.Shapiro administration express used to deliver 600,000 rebales per annum however has forward out about 430,000 in latest years due to unchanging income limits.

The program benefits Pennsylvanian age 65 and senior. widows and widower age 50 and older and adults with disabilities.The rebates range for $380 to $1,000 based on income.

Shapiro told media The Property Tax/Rent Rebate program has been a lifeline for our adults for thoses on a fixed income and my administration is brought together folks on both sides of the aisle to expand this tax rebate to an additional 175,000 Pennsylvanians.

Pennsylvanians can apply online through mypath. Help s available at Department of Revenues district offices, local Area Agencies on Aging , state legislator offices and senior centers. Rebates will be distributed July 1. The deadline is June 30. The program is supported by funds from the Pennsylvania Lottery.

The maximum rebate of $1000 is available for those whose income is $8000 or less. The program 3 other tiers are as follows income of $8001 to $15,000 qualifies for a $770 rebate, income of $15,001 to 18,000 qualifies for a $460 rebate and income of $18,001 to $45,000 qualifies for a rebated of $380.
