Carly Gregg the teenage who shot her mother and tried to kill her stepfather has been sentenced to life in jail according to media reports.
Gregg was 14 at time of March 19 shooting in which prosecutors argued she murdered her 40 year old mother. Ashley Smylie with mother gun inside the family Brandon Miss home.
Teenage lied in wait in ambush designed to shoot and murder her stepfather 39 year old Health Smylie when he reached home prosecutors told.
Gregg then fled but was arrested near home.
The sentence was handed down to 15 year old on Sept 20 after jurors in Rankin County Miss found her guilty on all counts including tempering with evidence first degree murder attempted murder.

During closing arguments State Attorney Michael Smith told the jury she was aware of her actions at time of shooting.
“We would ask that you go back there and find her guilty of all three because she was not insane at time that this happened”.
Dr Andrew Clark a child psychologist testified on Tuesday Sept 17 that on day of shooting Gregg was grumpy and irritable and could not focus in class at Northwest Rankin High School where her mother was math teacher.
Clark add the teenager claimed her memory went blank that day after letting her dog out in backyard.
Clark testified that Gregg dealt with depression and was in past prescribed medication that made her feel numb. The Clarion Ledger reported.
Clark testified that Gregg listen voices which were getting worse before shooting and that she had history of self destruction.
After coming home with her mom prosecutors add Gregg went straight into her parents bedroom to retrieve a .357 magnum pistol from beneath their mattress.
Gregg defense team did not deny she murdered her mom the attorney contended that teenager was experiencing a mental health crisis on day of murdering and did not remember the shooting.
