Alex Rins is in for a busy season as a factory MotoGP rider. Honda is considering over 20 private tests. The revised concession rules mean that Honda and Yamaha are eligible to take part in private testing with their race riders.

Yamaha is still not confirm its private testing plans however like Honda will have its MotoGP race riders on track for the Sepang Shakedown test.

Rins said ” They are working on this plan. For sure I will do the Shakedown test. More days to test means more things to test”. Im feeling good because it give me the chance to be more ready for the start of the season”

Rins will be working on in Malaysia are the throttle management and electronics although the disagreed with the decision of some bikers who have describer the MI as aggressive.

Rins said Shimabukuro who spent 2023 with GASGAS Tech 3 proven his worth at the Valencia test.

Rins will be spending even less time at home during a year that already includes a record 22 Grand Prix plus six official tests.

Rins in adapting to the M1 his third different MotoGP machine in 3 seasons, will be former Suzuki engine management engineer, Yuta Shimabukuro.

“It was a good decision to take him because he already asked for something on the electronic side something similar to what I was using and it was working well”

Rins said ” The fact that we have him in the team is quite nice because he has a lot of experience with the Suzuki bike”.

The Sepang Shakedown takes placw from Februray 1-3.
