Such sale could prove controversial with US lawmakers whose allegiance has leant toward Israel the US main ally in Middle East.

Israel is only country in Middle East to have F 35 and any sale of advance stealth technology to Saudi Arabi could be seen as dangerous having the potential to shift military and power dynamics in fractious region.
