A Thanksgiving Day homecoming — and epic showdown — awaits in the setting of Dallas.
Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs will be making their way to Dallas to meet Dak Prescott and the Cowboys on Nov. 27 (Week 13), CBS announced on CBS Mornings on Wednesday.
Prescott has also been blanked in a 2021 game against Mahomes and company, but can point to one successful outing versus the Chiefs with two TD tosses in a 28-17 home victory when Mahomes sat out a rookie season on the sideline in 2017.
Mahomes will play in Arlington, Texas, for the first time in his storied pro career. The native Texan has played the Cowboys once, defeating Dallas 19-9 in Kansas City in 2021, but was unable to throw a touchdown against the team he grew up cheering for 80 miles east in Tyler, Texas.
Dallas’ 2025 date against the Chiefs is one of many tough matchups on the docket for the Cowboys.
The Cowboys will face 10 teams who made the 2024 playoffs and will see each of the top seven scoring defenses from the 2024 season, including their Week 13 matchup against the Chiefs.
Kansas City, meanwhile, will also see 10 of last year’s playoff teams come their way this season, including all three of their playoff foes (Texans, Bills, Eagles) during their 2024 Super Bowl campaign.
It was announced on Tuesday that the Chiefs will host the Broncos on Christmas Day in Week 17.
It will be the first time since 2006 that the Chiefs will host a game on Thanksgiving Day, which was the inaugural year of an ongoing NFL tradition of playing three games on the holiday.
The franchise is 5-5 on Thanksgiving Day all-time.
The Cowboys, who’ve had a Thanksgiving Day game annually since 1966, are 34-22-1 all-time on the holiday.
The entire 2025 schedule will be revealed by the NFL at 8 p.m. ET on Wednesday on NFL Network, NFL.com, the NFL app and NFL+.
