Islamabad High Court grant bail to Bushra Bibi in Toshakhana 2.0

Wife of imprisoned PTI chief Imran Khan required to submit a bond of Rs1 million

The bail was approved by Justice Mian Gul Hassan Aurangzeb during a hearing on Wednesday with Bushra Bibi required to submit a bond of Rs 1 million.

The Islamabad High Court IHC granted bail to Bushra Bibi spouse of ex PM Imran Khan in ongoing Toshakhana case.

During the hearing Justice Aurangzeb questioned the FIA investigate officer about necessity of further interrogation of Bushra Bibi.

The officer confirmed that no extra investigation was required after which judge granted bail.

This decision provides relief to Bushra Bibi who faces allegations related to improper handling of state gifts.

The judge highlighted how other countries like Azerbaijan display gifts in museum with only image of Pakistani leader being that of Benazir Bhutto.

In Thoshakana case consist of allegations of corruption against Imran Khan and his spouse Bushra Bibi regarding the sale of gifts get from foreign dignitaries.

The officer confirmed that no extra investigation was required after which judge granted bail.

The court reference similar practices in other countries noting that British PM had taken gifts home and  regulations.

Speaking to FIA prosecutor Justice Aurangzeb recommended that he or the deputy attorney general visit Azerbaijan if they ever get a chance.

He went on to explain that in Azerbaijan there was a museum where all state gifts  were kept on display everything get by presidents from the world over was kept there along with their photos. He saw an image of Benazir Bhutto there.

If Bushra Bibi did not submit gifts then why was the PTI founder made an accused?

Justice Aurangzeb inquired to which the FIA prosecutor replied that Imran was a public officer.

Justice Aurangzeb said the case was similar to related to Justice Qazi Faez Isa

“In that case too, the husband was held responsible for the spouse actions”

Malik said the Bushra case was different fro Isa’s.

 

Indictment of Imran, Bushra postponed in Toshakhana 2.o

The indictment proceeding against both Bushra Bibi and Imran Khan for same day were postponed due to security reasons.

The hearing was mover to Islamabad Judicial complex.

Security concerns continued preventing the procedure and court rescheduled the indictment for October 26.

Adiala Jail submits report on Bushra Bibi medical, security care

A team of 6 senior doctors from Holy Family Hospital in Rawalpindi conducts her medical check ups weekly.

The Adiala Jail administration has submitted a report to court regarding Bushra Bibi.

The report sent to Special Judge Central Shahrukh Arjumand states that Bushra Bibi is held in highly secure jail within the ladies ward.

Jail staff are not permitted to enter her cell without the permission of the jail superintendent.

According to report highly trained professional staff have been assigned to Bushra Bibi and female medical officer has been appointed to overlook her care.

The Punjab government has imposed a ban on all prisoner meetings until October 25 due to security reasons.

The government has order increased security in jail and mock exercises are being conducted in collaboration with law enforcement agencies.

As part of this emergency plan all prisoner meeting are suspended.

Once the ban is lifted Bushra Bibi meeting will be arranged under the established SOPs.

The court adjourned proceeding until October 25.
