The list of public holidays for 2025, which includes 27 general holidays for government agencies, has been formally released by the Telangana government. All government agencies would be able to use this list, which was published in the Telangana State Gazette.
Particular Guidelines for Public Offices, Factories, and Schools
It is crucial to remember that public agencies, schools, and factories are not always closed on general holidays.
These sectors will receive different instructions. Furthermore, the dates of holidays like Eid and Muharram can alter based on the moon’s sighting; the media will be informed of any alterations.
All pertinent government departments have been informed of the full list of vacations, which is published in the Telangana State Gazette.
Important Points of the Holiday List
Major festivals like Sankranti, Ugadi, Eid, Christmas, and Independence Day are among the holidays scheduled for 2025, giving workers time off to commemorate these significant events.
Government offices will be closed on Sundays and the second Saturday of every month, with the exception of February 8, 2025, in addition to these general holidays. This day will take the place of January 1, 2025, as a working day.
Holidays that are optional
From a selection of 23 festivals, employees can select up to five optional holidays. These celebrations include Varalakshmi Vratham, Rakhi, Kanumu, and Mahaveer Jayanti. Employees must obtain prior authorisation from their managers in order to take advantage of these optional holidays.
The Telangana government has formally unveiled their holiday schedule for 2025, which consists of 50 vacations overall (27 mandatory and 23 elective).

January 1st is the new year.
Bhogi: 13 January
Pongal/Sankranti: January 14
January 26 is Republic Day.
Date of Maha Shivaratri: 26 February
March 14 is Holi.
March 30 is Ugadi.
Ramzan: 31 March
Ramzan Marnadu: 1 April
April 14 is Ambedkar Jayanti.
August 15 is Independence Day.
October 20 is Diwali.
December 25 is Christmas.
December 26 is Boxing Day.
